Removed the workspace switcher from the panel and re-added it.
Only one workspace is shown, whereas I usually have ten.
Right-click and select "preference" and the following error message is
given.
"An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for
wnck-applet. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly."
Click on "details" to get

specified for

stores a non-schema value

Only the current workspace is shown in the workspace-switcher, and the
options to select "Show only the current workspace" and "Show all workspaces in: x rows" are greyed out, with the first option selected.
