No, i don't "have to" do anything for you.

Indeed using update-xmlcatalog is perhaps not the best idea, because
there is much things to add, event if all is probably not broken.
Here is how docbook-xml register them : (for example purpose)
/var/lib/dpkg/info/docbook-xml.postinst
The best way would probably to reinstall sgml-data and docbook-xml
(perhaps after some --purge).
