you have closed gnomemeeting while doing the steps i asked of you,
right?
Having gnomemeeting open while playing with the gconf settings is known
to not work, for the current active settings will be mapped back upon
exit. So first close gnomemeeting, then install/upgrade, then shutdown
gconf-2 and then start gnomemeeting again.

Moreover if you once (and once already suffices) set manually the value
of GCONF_TEST_AGE you need to unset it for your user account before the
system schema is queried again.
This can be done with:
gconftool-2 -u /apps/gnomemeeting/general/gconf_test_age
