Package: gnome-session
Version: 2.4.2-5
Severity: important
I did a fresh sarge install over nfsroot. GDM works fine, but then gnome-session
freezes at the splash screen. gnome-settings-daemon is the last program that
runs. After about 5 minutes, the splash gets removed, wm starts, but there's
no panel, etc. Some gnome config tools are working, some not.
F.e.: gconf-editor works, gnome-control-center not.
XFree86 starts and works normally.
No corresponding log entry found.
/tmp is on tmpfs, root & home are on nfsroot
Kernel version is 2.6.6 (I write this report from the same PC
but booting the old non-nfs setup.)
