Hi,
My patch isn't sufficient to fix the problem, but it is the root
cause. Something is going wrong in the debian build process (if I
build it by hand it is OK) so I will look into it further.
If you're reading this bug and just want a fix now, you can copy the
fixed library from
http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au/~ianw/pango/
to /usr/lib and things should work.
