Package: libbonobo-activation4
Version: 1:2.2.4-1
Severity: important

I hadn't upgraded my system for a few days - yesterday when I upgraded
libbonoboui and libbonono-activation updated to 2.2.4. Evolution stopped
loading, giving errors like:
Cannot activate component OAFIID: GNOME_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent :
The error from the activation system is:
 Unknown CORBA exception id: 'IDL:omg.org/CORBA/INV_OBJREF:1.0'

I didn't look into it at the time, but this morning when I logged in,
gnome-settings-daemon failed to start, and I got one of those errors
for each applet I have on my panel. I looked for recently upgraded
CORBA-related packages and tried downgrading libbonoboui to 2.2.2,
which didn't fix it, but downgrading libbonobo-activation to 2.2.2
did (I have to keep libbonoboui at 2.2.2 to do this).

I have no idea how to debug this problem, but it certainly messed up my
desktop and went away when I downgraded to libbonobo-activation 2.2.2.

Regards,
Rob

Hi,

This definitely doesn't concern GNOME 2.6.
