Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.6.10-2

sorry if this is a dupe... the bug tracking and package system has been down for
the last few days, so i have been unable to check.

using the esd backend for gstreamer, sometimes there is just no sound output
from rhythmbox at all. no amount of stoppping/restarting songs fixes the
problem; i must exit rhythmbox and start it up again.

i realise this is probably a problem with esd, as it is a montrosity... but the
gstreamer ALSA backend is currently broken (bug reported) and i am left with no
alternative than esd.

this does not seem to happen with any other esd-using apps i have... and it
seems to be introduced mostly when i use the sound device in another program and
then start/restart a tune in rhythmbox. sorry i cannot be more detailed than
this... i have noticed the problem for several months and wished to find some
kind of controlled test case where the problem occured, but i was unable to do
it; despite this happenning on a more-than-once daily basis.

if this is not a rhythmbox bug, could you please pass it onto the relevant buggy
package?

this also occurs with the 0.8.4-4 build against the gstreamer0.8 libraries.
