Package: gedit
Version: 2.2.1-2
Severity: normal
Search>Find, (or <Ctrl-F>) is slow. It takes 12 seconds to find
one word at the end of a 184K text file. While doing this the CPU usage
shoots up to 100%. If I repeat the same search, it takes 12 seconds
each and every time.
I'm running 'gedit' on a 400mhz AMD K6-2 with 256M RAM.
For comparison: using the 'find' functions in 'cooledit' and 'gnotepad+',
(same file, same search string), the string is found instantly.
