Bug#251264: possible solution

hi
today i was again so annoyed by this bug, so i looked at the BTS.
after each login i had to move the panels around on the desktop to
restore them properly or by doing a killall gnome-panel :/
because installing metacity is no option for me i decided to rebuild
sawfish from source.
this solved the bug for me, hope it will do so for you
