for the new gnome-2.6 in unstable, i am running in 800x600 resolution mode and
dragging icons on the main desktop is a real mess...

if i click and drag an icon, the mouse jumps way to the right, and does not stay
with the icon. the further to the bottom right the icon initially is, the more
prominent the effect. if i have an icon in the top left of the screen and click
and drag it... the effect is less noticeable.

at the moment, it is a real hassle as if i want to do any dragging of icons on
the Desktop, then i have to first move them to the top left :-/

if anyone has a solution which doesn't involve fixing this at the source code
level (maybe turning off the new gtk2 mouse cursors??), i would be very
interested to hear about it as i am setting this machine up for somebody and
they need it back in the next few days!!

thanks,
Sam
