Version: 2.6.1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental

Hi,

After installing gnome-desktop-environment from experimental on a fresh
sid, nautilus displays "write-protected" emblems on computer, trash and
mounted volumes on the desktop (local/ext3, nfs, sftp). I use
"desktop_is_home_dir" and spatial mode. Home icon, when i choose
"home_icon_visible", is write-protected too.
Note that i can trash items, empty trash, =ABconnect to a server=BB in th=
e
computer window. I can also write with no problems on nfs/local volumes
in which i have real (unix) write access.

Info Dialog show this for permissions on Computer:
Owner: root
Group: root
text view: dr--r--r--

all checkboxes are greyed, it says that as i am not the owner, i cannot
change permissions.

Info dialog for trash displays nothing (no permission tab).

Info dialog for a local ext3 mounted volume (rw, user, noauto, nodev,
nosuid) shows:
Owner: olive
Group: deep-ocean
text view: drwx-----x
i can modify all check boxes, set sticky, what else, but nautilus says
that "i'm not the owner of this element, i consequently cannot changes
permissions", both of which are false.
note: olive is `whoami` and deep-ocean my primary group. all is fine
except the message and the write-protected emblem.

Info dialog for a sftp volume shows:
Owner: unknown
Group: unknown
text view: unknow
"you are not the owner, so bla bla <same as above>..."

Strangely, in the computer window, no volume at all shows the write prote=
cted
emblem. It is only on the desktop.

This bug does not block me at all, does not interfere with normal operati=
on,
but seems strange and pollute desktop visually, in addition not
to reflecting really of permissions.

Note that i only found one mail on google which reports the same
problem, no related bugs on gnome's bugzilla (searching in "nautilus", co=
mponent
"Desktop", version 2.6.x), and none related on bugs.debian.org/nautilus.

regards,

Olivier Cortes
