I am running GNOME with Sawfish as my window manager. I have a
key-binding for the sawfish function "delete-window-safely" ... when
pressing that, the focus may sometimes be on the gnome-panel. In that
case, the panel actually disappears. It's still running in the
background, and can be restored with a HUP. But the panel should in fact
not respond to the delete event at all.
