That's the problem, downgrade to xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4:

$ wget
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/x/xfree86/xlibs_4.3.0.dfsg.1-4_a=
ll.deb
$ dpkg -i xlibs_4.3.0.dfsg.1-4_all.deb
