For convienience of others who visit here before xlibs fixed..

Following based upon:

1. cd /tmp
2. wget http://redwald.deadbeast.net/tmp/alt_tab_fix.diff
3. *Verify .diff file contains nothing dodgy*
3. su -
4. cd /
5. patch -p0 < /tmp/alt_tab_fix.diff
6. *Restart XFree86*
7. *Your alt tab should now work!*

Note: You should always check contents of diff file before patching
      folks.... not that I don't trust the original poster of this
      link, but it's prudent to check..
