I can still reproduce this with 2.6.1 (testing 2.7.3 now).

I have the feeling that resizing the gnome-terminal window often leads
to an earlier appearance of this bug, but i haven't verified this. Using
gdb on this would be a PITA as it needs some hours to happen.

Well, this is quite annoying, it *really* needs to be fixed.
