I was going to do all gedit & gnome-utils stuff today, but my install of
gnome 2.6 and its associated headaches (see debian-gtk-gnome) combined
with me being ill has made it impossible for me to do it today (too
tired). We'll see; if I don't go to work tomorrow it will be done
tomorrow for certain.

Note however that gedit's problem is not a bug in gedit but in eel. See
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138454
