I'm not sure which package this should be filed against.  I'm using Debia=
n
GNU/Linux unstable, and I had the problem that GNOME waits for a timeout
(it feels like a couple of minutes) when I log in.

The culprit turned out to be a $HOME/.gnome2/session file.  When I remove=
d
it, the start-up went rapidly.  I had to find this file by trial and erro=
r;
no error messages were issued, and I didn't see anything relevant in the
system logs.

The session file may be referring to some old versions of packages, or
a different IP address of the computer (it's a laptop system), or somethi=
ng
like that.

It would be nice to report that the session cannot be restored, and to
suggest that the problem can be solved by removing the file
$HOME/.gnome2/session if all else fails.

The session file is attached.
