Since xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-2, it looks like gnome-settings-daemon breaks.
You should revert to version 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1, which you can find at
http://pkg-gnome.alioth.debian.org/xlibs_4.3.0.dfsg.1-1_all.deb
