Dear people,

I thought it might be of interest to report that using the above
description i got rid of the specified problem.

Here on my specific installation, additionally, i had to manually
correct the settings under:

"Application > Desktop Preferences > Keyboard".

Most notably the language, which is "german" on my keyboard.
