Package: libgnome2-0
Version: 2.8.0-5
Severity: normal

For some reason gnome-open cannot open URLs pointing to
theonion.com. Some examples:

$ gnome-open http://www.theonion.com/
Error showing url: The specified location is invalid.
$ gnome-open http://theonion.com/
Error showing url: The specified location is invalid.
$ gnome-open theonion.com
Error showing url: The specified location is invalid.

These are the only kinds of URLs for which I have been able to detect
this problem. It's not a network issue. Opening other URLs with
gnome-open works flawlessly, and if I go to theonion.com in a web
browser, I have no problem.
