Bug#274759: standard greeter crashes with non-english character.

Hi,

    I tried having an user whose last name as it was in the /etc/passwd 
had an "u (u with dots in top). The standar greeter with faces 
option kept crashing and then it starts with the graphical greeter and 
no faces. I edited the passwd to leave a normal u and the problem was 
gone.
    By the way, I do have installed xfonts-intl-european (which is not 
even in the suggested requirements).

    If you think that this bug should be downgraded to wishlist, I won't 
mind... but remember that there are a lot of people with strange 
characters in their names:D.
