IIRC when I was initially installing gdesklets, I had a python-gtk
dependency problem so I updated the pygtk package using aptitude. I did
not do anything as far as setting the path to /usr/local/lib as opposed
to /usr/lib. On gnomesupport, some other users were receiving import
errors and the PYTHONPATH seemed to be where the discrepancy was. This
error is essentially the same as what is in .xsession-errors, so I admit
that this doesn't appear to be a bug. I am now asking if you know where
the PYTHONPATH would be set officially or the proper way to correct the
problem. I know I shouldn't have to edit the sys modules in python, or
.bashrc, but I don't see any other solutions. I just removed the
installation with aptitude, and reinstalled gdesklets-data-0.30 with
aptitude and used apt-get -t experimental install gdesklets-0.30
previous to my last post. This obviously didn't fix the PYTHONPATH
problem. Sorry, if I am bothering you or my questions are not
appropriate.
Thank you,
Darius
