I'm on Debian /experimental/ (upgrading every night), but I don't have
this problem. Some information from the 'reportbug' tool (I cut the
package descriptions out):
=====
- -- System Information:
Debian Release: 3.1
APT prefers experimental
APT policy: (990, 'experimental'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.9
Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968)
Versions of packages mozilla-bonobo depends on:
ii gconf2 2.8.1-1
ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-6
ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-2
ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-4

ii libtasn1-2 0.2.10-4
ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8
ii libxml2 2.6.14-1
ii mozilla-browser 2:1.7.3-5
ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8
ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-1
=====
The only package versions that differ from Johannes' (-) and me (+) are:
libgtk2.0-0 - 2.4.10-1
+ 2.4.13-1
libxml2 - 2.6.11-3
+ 2.6.14-1
zlib1g - 1:1.2.1.1-7
+ 1:1.2.2-1
And on my box mozilla-bonobo works like a charm. The output from
'about:plugins' in Mozilla is:
=====
Mozilla-Bonobo 0.4.1
File name: libmozilla_bonobo.so
This plugin uses GNOME Bonobo controls to display content inline.

=====
As you can see, there're no extensions (suffixes) at all, but .ps and
.pdf documents are opened with no problem via GGV and GPdf.
So, I guess the problem is somewhere else.
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
