Hi,
I had one data CD loaded on the CD drive, which couldn't be unmounted
because famd was watching it. I tried playing it as an audio CD (with
the hopes that famd will release the lock, but that's another problem),
and I got a screeching noise on the speakers, as if the data was being
played straight to the dsp; plus the CD was detected as some artist's
whose works I'm not so eager to know ;-)
Also, on the console I got:
jkohen@nada:~$ totem /media/cdrom/
free(): invalid pointer 0x8e05ae8!
umount: /media/cdrom: device is busy
umount: /media/cdrom: device is busy
eject: unmount of `/dev/hdc' failed
free(): invalid pointer 0x8eeb4c8!
I don't think you need to wait for famd to misbehave in order to
reproduce this bug, probably changing to /media/cdrom from a shell while
a data CD is mounted there is enough to block the media.
In brief, the data CD was played as audio and that's something my ears
regret; at the same time, an invalid pointer was freed.
Thanks,
