Package: file-roller
Version: 2.4.4-1
Severity: normal

As has been noted before (see bug 223019), file-roller cannot handle
zip-archives if the unzip package is not installed.

However, even if the unzip package being installed, file-roller still
claims it is responsible for zip-archives. At least that is how I
interpret various lines I found in the MIME configuration. Try

   grep -E '[^gb]zip' `dpkg -L file-roller | grep mime`

and you'll see what I mean.

In my opinion, this is a bug. If file-roller cannot handle zip archives
(and it cannot relyably do so, as long as it does not outrightly depend
on unzip), it should not take responsibility for that MIME type.

Suggested fix: Make file-roller depend on unzip.

This would also fix bug 223019.

Regards, and thank you for providing fine software,

Andreas
