Bug#344470: gnome-panel: clock-applet drop-down calendar starts week on Saturday

My clock-applet's drop-down calendar now has Saturday listed as the
first day.  I have no idea how this might have happened - I don't
believe I did any preferences tweaking (via either Clock Preferences
or gconf-editor).  Perhaps I hit some odd, undocumented keystroke?
Whatever the case, I can't find a way to change it back...

A counter-intuitive calender, where you have to read the column
headings before decoding it, isn't very useful...

Any ideas?
