There are two ways to attach a file from another directory than used last time:

1) click up- and down the file hirarchy.

Nice but often cumbersome, especially if one needs to move into an automounted directory currently not mounted, i.e., invisibile!

2) - type the new directory which contains the file into selection.
   - get an error that the file entered is not a regular file.
   - cancel the attachment
   - attach another file: the directory will be the one entered at step one!

Instead of giving an error that the selected file is not a regular file but a directory, the file browser should simply change the directory to the one entered in selection. This would be consistent with many file selection windows which allow directory changes to be typed in the selector.

Hi Matthias,

No progress has been made on this bug since you filed it over a year
ago. I believe that it was probably a bug in the GTK+ file selector at
the time instead of Balsa specifically. Please refile against libgtk2.0
if it still affects you.

Cheers,
Andrew "Netsnipe" Lau
