Hi again,

I took some time to investigate this further and found that the problem
lies in the libxine1 package and not the totem-xine package. Currently
if the user does not have libtheora0 installed then the xine plugin for
demuxing ogg files will not load. This is documented in bug #288331. If
the user installs libtheora then the xine plugin works and fixes the
problem in Totem-xine. I see no reason to keep this bug open.
