Bug#261086: This bug (switch to po-debconf for gdm) should be fixed, really

If so, you should work on translating the xdm templates. They *should*
integrate the gdm package soonish.

Again, true if you do the work on xdm. And since it's already done
(http://www.debian.org/intl/l10n/po-debconf/pot#xfree86), there is no need
for that. Dupplicating the work for gdm won't help anyone.

You are the one pesting about apache related packages dupplicating the
templates over and over. The ?dm packages don't. I agree that copying
templates from one (gettextized) package to another is not really kasher,
and that we should work on a solution to ease the template sharing in
debconf, but until we come out with a working solution, I'd prefer gdm to
stay as is.

Erm. Not exactly, indeed.=20

Looking at the stats, xfree templates have the following stats:

Oh well. Please Ryan, could you update those templates (ie, steal the modern
translations of what you need from the xfree package)?

A semi-automatic way of doing this update on xfree upload would solve
Christian's issue, I guess.

Thanks for your time,=20
