        Hi,

Ok, I'm looking at your bug with fresh eyes, and I followed a
completely wrong approach. Looking at the source code provided more
information on where your bug might come from:
 - the error message is generated by totem trying to create a
"bacon-video-widget", that is the widget used to play videos, but it
   has sound support,
 - I couldn't find the second part of your error message in the totem
source itself, so it's certainly returned by a backed, either
   gstreamer or xine.

Please tell me whether you use totem-xine or totem-gstreamer.

If you use totem-xine, please try to install xine and play something,

if you use totem-gstreamer, please try to install rhythmbox or muine
 and play something.

If you use totem-xine, please provide your xine and totem-xine
configuration files. You can also try:
    gst-launch-0.8 gnomevfssrc location=/path/to/my/musicfile.ogg ! \
        spider ! volume ! audioscale ! audioconvert ! $(gconftool-2 \
        -g /system/gstreamer/0.8/default/audiosink)
 instead.

If you use totem-gstreamer, please give me the output of:
    gconftool-2 -g /system/gstreamer/0.8/default/audiosink

Thanks and sorry for the previous questions which obviously missed
 the target!
