I managed to install xorg here, but got no segfault. But I am using
packages from:
deb http://debian.linux-systeme.com unstable main
deb-src http://debian.linux-systeme.com unstable main
I still could not test my xorg installation localy, but I tried it
through XDMCP and it worked. I got the error dialogs, though, and I
guess this comes from almost the same problem that are happening to
Debian's XFree86 packages on sarge (see the link I sent previously).
Take a look at the output of your X server, please, and see if you get
any errors related to xkb (mainly xkbcomp ones). I get the one below,
which looks just like the one I was getting with xfree86 when I had the
problem present in 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8:
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Error: No Symbols named "us_intl" in the include file "pc/us_i=
ntl"
> Exiting
> Abandoning symbols file "default"
More information on your keyboard configuration at the Xorg
configuration file and gnome, by using those commands the error dialog
shows would probably be useful. Does the segfault happen for new users?
Thanks,
