Package:gnome-common, mc
i am listing both packages, since both might use the same underlying io
package.
my /home directory in sarge is a symlink to /common/home/sarge.
when i have moved the link from /common/home-sarge, i encountered a few
problems related to having some gnome (openoffice too) related file
locations pointing to the former true location (not the link).
in my opinion, since the configuration files have been automatically
made, their content should follow the standard home directory notation,
as far as possible.
same with mc (midnight commander): it sometimes loses the file system
navigation path (when it contains symlinks), and turns to the underlying
directory names.
i will do my best to help finding bugs to improve debian.
best regards and wishes,
alex
