Bug#288713: nautilus: Creating New files from desktop seems wrong

Would you mind giving me one step-by-step example with one example name?

I tried this with 'ble.txt', for example, and it correctly runs gedit.
When I tried it by creating a file named 'bleh', with no extension, I
got 'could not show file /.../bleh'. Can you confirm these behaviors?
