ok, this is a very very minor cosmetic bug, but nevertheless, gnome just
doesn't look quite as professional as it should to new users.
after installing Sarge with the i386 debian-installer RC2, and choosing
only "desktop system" in the package selection, on a gnome log in, there
are rogue menu items in the panel main-menu bar. for example, it looks
like there are some links to items on the kde menu like "control-center,"
"home," and "help." I think that for the sake of polish that these menu
items should not be present.

This was fixed in gnome-vfs2 2.8.3-9
