The "menubar" bug with mozilla-thunderbird when using the Simple theme
still happens with version 1.0. It also happens when using
mozilla-firefox-gnome-support. To me, this is a thunderbird/firefox bug.
This theme is a bit special, as it changes the text color in selected
menu items. Maybe the firesomething code is picking the wrong color in
some cases.
