Package: gnome
Version: 62
Severity: normal
When I try to copy some text from emacs to various gnome applications
that edit text (gedit, evolution, abiword) using the "default"
X11 middle mouse button "copy and paste" mechanism, nothing happens
when iso-latin-1 characters are present in the selected text.
Here is what I do step by step:
0 - start gedit (or any of the above mentionned applications)
1 - open a file in emacs
2 - select a text region with some iso-latin-1 characters (accented
text for instance.)
3 - [optional] ESC-W to save the text to emacs' internal ring
(I hoped this could do something, but I was wrong.)
4 - switch to gedit
5 - place mouse on top of the cursor
6 - click mouse middle button
Result: nothing happens.
This works fine on the other hand if I only copy a region from the
same file that does not contain any iso-latin-1 characters.
