Coin,

If you disagree with such interractions between panel and ximian stuff,
please complain to upstream authors. The GNOME Team, to fulfill users'
needs (policy says it is maintainer's role), and because it does involve
only very small libs, with no other drawback than a sligh dependency
increase, to add this clock-applet feature.

This software is Free, it is in no way linked to M$ or any bad company,
so there is no reason not to please other Debian users.

Thus, this non-bug won't be fixed.
