Hello,

file-roller does not actually perform decompression itself but relies on
command line tools. The only thing it can do is parse the output of
these files.

For the extract operation, the progress bar relies on the number of
files processed, but when opening the archive ("list" operation),
file-roller generally has no information about the progress of the
extraction.

There is already a Gnome bug about this issue, but I think there is
little chance it can get fixed while file-roller uses command-line
tools.
