Bug#311441: nautilus: sftp uri's work as root, but not for regular users

Whenever I (a regular user) attempt to access an sftp URI with
nautilus, a new nautilus window pops up, but nothing happens; it is as
if it reading data or trying to access a file or waiting for more
input.  However, when I log in as root, this problem doesn't arise at
all.  What's happening?
