 At lest its clear it segfaults in libgal!  :)

 Alban, thanks for pointing the dup and forwarding it etc.

 If I understand it correctly, gnomecanvas has added assertion, but the
 bug lied in libgal and is fixed in CVS.

 Well, it's experimental you know... :)

 Seriously, either a new release comes out, or the patch should be added
 prior to an upload in unstable, but there's no big hurry.
