 Sorry, I didn't see you were tracking stable...

 Since how long does Log Out crash?  Did you update a particular
 package just before?

 Do you see any warnings in the ".xsession-errors" file of your home
 directory?  How does gnome-panel crash, does the panel window
 disappear, and then reappear?
