Package: gnome-session
Version: 2.8.1-3
Severity: normal

The splash image doesn't shut itself down but continues to display after
loading the desktop. The only way to get rid of it is by clicking it or
opening another window, the latter doesn't always work.

The last thing it shows embedded in the splash screen is the Nautilus
icon.
