 If you just pass the LC_MESSAGES environment on the command line, only
 the gok _launcher_ will be affected -- and it switches to english here
 if I use LC_MESSAGES=POSIX or LC_MESSAGES=C.

 Please try setting the environment before running X or from GDM and
 tell me if the language in the gok window is correct.
