Bug#298220: gnome-cups-manager: Deals poorly with leftover ~/.gksu.lock

Hi - last boot I tried to run synaptic and got as far as the root password prompt, at 
which point my machine froze (hardware failure).

On reboot I ran synaptic as root and installed the various CUPS packages, then went to 
Desktop Preferences -> System Tools -> Printing, but on double clicking 'Add Printer' 
not only is there no indication that any work is happening, but there's also an error to 
stdout that is not drawn to the GUI user's attention... The error is

** (gksu:3878): WARNING **: Lock found: /home/gdh/.gksu.lock. Exiting.

I'm guessing this file is a remnant from synaptic's run on the previous boot. Either 
way, shouldn't gnome-cups-manager (or maybe gksu? Please re-assign the bug if you feel 
it more appropriate!) tell the user that a stale lockfile may be present and prompt to 
override?

Once I manually removed the lockfile, I was prompted for the root password in the normal 
manner (I'm also getting the 'env: -- no such file or dir' problem, but I see a patch 
has been posted - thanks for that! :)
