hoi :)

after installing gnome-panel 2.8 and restarting the session,
I got a message that a panel was already running and that it will
be killed.
After clicking OK, the message reappeared after several seconds,
over and over again.

There really was a old panel hanging around.
simply kill(1)ing it helped.
So it appears that the panel does not try to kill old panels
even when it tells so.

Hi,

this was most probably due to you getting the panel twice in your
session, a known bug which was fixed by removing smproxy from the
default session. Hence, I'm hereby closing this bug.

In case you still experience the problem on an up-to-date system,
though, just reply to this message so I can reopen the bug.

Regards,
