I can connect with balsa to the server in question just fine. The SSL  
negotiation can fail for two reasons: the certificate does not match  
the server, or the cipher strength is too week. In both cases, user  
should be asked what to do. Does anything get printed if you start  
balsa from terminal window? /Pawel
