 This is fixed in recent mozilla-thunderbird:
mozilla-thunderbird (1.0.6-1) unstable; urgency=high
  * fix gdk_property_get problem that might cause a segfault (Closes: 317937)
      patch by Loic Minier <lool at dooz.org>
      debian/patches/gdk_property_get.dpatch
