Version: 2.6.2-1
Severity: normal

I did a recent update on both my desktop and my laptop (I'm following
testing on both). The gnome-volume-control no longer works after the
upgrade. I also upgraded to kernel 2.6.

Sound in general works fine (mpg123, cplay etc), aumix does its mixy
thing, its just gnome-volume-control that doesn't work. It always
reports a volume of 0 and if you drag the slider up it jumps back to
zero.

I don't use the gnome sound server. I'm using the snd_emu10k1 kernel
driver.

The Volume Control preferences of gnome-volume-control has no audio
channels in it which is probably a clue!
