Hello,

probably not the cleanest one, but it works:

Just add "umask 0002" or whatever you which to /etc/gdm/Xsession

Any other global umask configuration was ignored here:

1) /etc/profile (which I no commented out in favor of /etc/login.defs and 
libpam-umask)

2) /etc/login.defs

3) /etc/pam.d/common-session: 
session    optional     pam_umask.so umask=0002
