On logging in, the cpu gets pegged. Top shows gnome-panel consuming all
cpu. I had to kill it to get any work done. 2.8.2-1 didn't give me
this problem. This upgrade did pull in a whole bunch on gnome stuff
simultaneously, though.

Hmm, I guess this was probably a temporary problem cause by a mix with
some broken thing. I can't see a way of studying this deeper, so I'll
close the bug with that version as fixing it; if anyone is able to
reproduce the bug please reopen.
